Manual QA Engineering for a Global Fashion eCommerce Platform

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A men's fashion retailer operating five physical stores in the United States and a globally accessible eCommerce platform with worldwide shipping. The website serves customers across multiple countries with localized pricing, frequent promotional campaigns, and a checkout experience built for international use.

Business Objectives

01Ensure consistent platform functionality across all supported devices, browsers, and operating systems.

02Validate geotargeting logic for correct currency and stock display by user location.

03Test payment and checkout flows across all supported methods and edge cases.

04Maintain release quality across continuous sprint-based product development.

Process Overview

Test Planning Defined QA strategy and workflow aligned to the client's sprint cadence.

Functional & Non-functional Testing Covered all core platform features including product catalog, checkout, promotions, and account management.

Localization Testing Verified correct currency display, pricing, and stock availability per user location through geotargeting validation.

Cross-platform & Cross-browser Testing Covered desktop, mobile web, iOS, and Android across Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, and Safari.

Payment & Checkout Testing Tested all supported payment methods and failure scenarios end-to-end.

Usability & Integration Testing Validated navigation flows and third-party service integrations.

Defect Reporting Maintained structured bug reports with reproduction steps, severity classification, and fix verification throughout.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge 1 — Geotargeting accuracy across global markets Currency, pricing, and stock logic had to be correct for every supported region. We built dedicated localization test coverage that validated geotargeting behavior independently from general functional testing.

Challenge 2 — Cross-environment consistency at scale A checkout flow working on Chrome desktop could behave differently on Safari mobile. We mapped every critical user journey across the full device and browser matrix and ran compatibility cycles as a standard part of each release.

Delivery Summary

The client shipped a more stable platform with verified global coverage — correct pricing, reliable checkout, and consistent behavior regardless of where a customer was accessing it from.
